Hello and welcome!
I'm Nishith Shah 唐汉明, Founder and Principal of the India China Academy. My journey with the Chinese language and culture began over a decade ago, and since then, I’ve dedicated myself to building meaningful bridges between India and China through education and cultural exchange.
I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese from Tianjin Normal University and have trained at esteemed institutions including East China Normal University, Xiamen University, Zhengzhou University, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. In 2013, I was awarded the Confucius Institute Scholarship, followed by a prestigious scholarship from The Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) (formerly Hanban) in 2015. These opportunities deepened my expertise in international Chinese education, and helped me attain HSK Level 6, the highest level of Mandarin proficiency.
In 2016 and 2017, I had the honor of participating in the Chinese Bridge Global Chinese Conference for Foreigners, where I shared my vision for promoting intercultural understanding through language. With encouragement from the Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai and the Confucius Institute, I realized a long-standing dream by founding India China Academy in 2018.
Our mission is simple yet meaningful: to provide authentic, accessible Mandarin Chinese education while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of both India and China. Today, we offer a wide range of services—including language courses, corporate training, cultural seminars, and official test administration for HSK, HSKK, YCT, and BCT. We also guide students in applying for scholarships to pursue studies in China.
Over the years, I’ve participated in numerous cultural exchange programs and have been featured by major media outlets such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, and the Global Times. I've also worked as an interpreter for prominent figures and films, including Dying to Survive, and artists such as Aamir Khan, Jia Zhangke, and Xu Zheng.
Whether you’re a student, professional, or simply curious about Chinese language and culture—I invite you to join us. There’s a place for you at India China Academy.
Warm regards,
— Nishith Shah 唐汉明
