Notice: The 24th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students in India – 2025
To Whom It May Concern,
To strengthen cultural exchanges between China and India, foster Indian students’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese, and promote a deeper understanding of the Chinese language and culture, the Chinese Embassy in India will host the 24th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students in India in 2025. Details of the event are as follows:
One World, One Family
Must be a college student in India, aged between 18 and 30.
Must be of non-Chinese nationality, born and raised in India.
Neither the student nor their parents should be native Chinese speakers.
Finalists from the previous “Chinese Bridge” global competition are not eligible to participate this year.
3.1 Online Pre-Selection Round
Participants are required to:
Deliver a Keynote Speech (online): Choose your topic based on the theme "One World, One Family" (within 5 minutes).
Submit a Cultural Talent Video in advance, showcasing one or more Chinese cultural skills such as:
Singing, dancing
Traditional musical instruments
Opera, calligraphy, painting
Martial arts, cooking, or other talents
3.2 Offline Final & Award Ceremony
Finalists will compete in:
Keynote Speech: Same theme, delivered live (5 minutes).
Knowledge Quiz: Focused on Chinese language, culture, and current affairs.
Live Cultural Performance: Showcasing Chinese cultural skills as above.
Recommendation Deadline (by Colleges/Institutes):
After internal selection, each institution may nominate 2–3 outstanding students. Submit the Application form by May 7, 2025.
Cultural Talent Video Submission:
Submit by May 7, 2025 with the Application form.
Requirements:
Format: Horizontal video
Duration: 3–6 minutes
File Size: No more than 300MB
Online Speech via Zoom:
To be held on May 24–25, 2025. Scoring will be based on content and artistic expression. Finalists will be announced afterwards.
Finals & Award Ceremony:
Scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025 (tentative). Venue details will be announced separately.
Finalist Selection:
The top 7 contestants will be selected from the pre-selection round.
Round-trip air travel, local accommodation, and meals will be arranged for non-local participants.
All pre-selection participants will receive commemorative souvenirs.
Awards in the Finals:
1 Grand Prize
1 First Prize
2 Second Prizes
3 Third Prizes
Winners will receive certificates and prizes.
Global Finals Participation:
Grand Prize winner: Represents India at the global finals in China.
First Prize winner: Invited to observe the global competition.
Global awardees will receive additional recognition and rewards.
Scholarship Recommendations:
All award winners will be recommended for Chinese government scholarships to pursue further studies in China.
Organizational Awards:
Colleges/Institutes that recommend outstanding students will receive an “Excellent Organization Award.”
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and India, the organizing committee will also arrange a “Chinese Bridge” Student Exchange Tour for selected participants.

Locations: Beijing and Shijiazhuang
Covered by the Committee: Accommodation, local transport, educational sessions, and site visits
Student Responsibility: Round-trip international airfare
Eligibility: Open to “Chinese Bridge” contestants
