OVERVIEW OF Examinations 

1) WHAT IS HSK?

The Chinese Proficiency Test - (HSK) is an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency administered by CTI Co., Ltd. (CTI), a specialized international Chinese language education and testing service company. HSK assesses Chinese learners' abilities to use Chinese as a second language in their daily, academic, and professional lives through a standardized examination and evaluation with a uniform grading and scoring system.

HSK is the world's third-largest language test brand after IELTS and TOEFL. HSK scores are required to prove Chinese language proficiency for international students to apply for admission, graduation, and scholarship in China. For foreigners looking to work in China, a high HSK score can help demonstrate that proficiency to employers and government officials and gives a better chance of obtaining a working visa. 

HSK LEVEL 1 - 

• Reporting time - 12:30 

• Test Start Time(All local times) - 13:30

• HSK (Level 1) score report provides two scores: Listening and Reading. 

• The maximum score is 200, A cumulative score of 120 or above qualifies as a passing mark.

• HSK scores are valid for two years, starting from the day of the exam.

HSK LEVEL 2 - 

• Reporting time - 08:00 

• Test Start Time(All local times) -09:00.

• The HSK (Level 2) score report provides two scores: Listening and Reading.

• The maximum score is 200, A cumulative score of 120 or above qualifies as a passing mark. 

• The HSK scores are valid for two years, starting from the day of the exam.

HSK LEVEL 3 - 

• Reporting time - 12:30 

• Test Start Time(All local times) - 13:30

• The HSK (Level 2) score report provides three scores: Listening, Reading and Writing.

• A cumulative score of 180 or above qualifies as a passing mark. 

• The HSK scores are valid for two years, starting from the day of the exam.

HSK LEVEL 4 -

The Youth Chinese Test (YCT), an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency, assesses primary and secondary school students' abilities to use Chinese as a second language in their daily and academic lives.

YCT LEVEL 1

• Reporting Time - 08:00

• Test Start Time(All local times): 09:00.

• The YCT (Level 1) score report provides scores for listening and reading

• The maximum score is 200, and a total score of 120 or higher is considered passing. 

• YCT scores remain valid for a long period.

YCT LEVEL 2

• Reporting Time - 08:00 am

• Test Start Time(All local times): 09:00 am

• The YCT (Level 1) score report provides scores for listening and reading

• The maximum score is 200, and a total score of 120 or higher is considered passing. 

• YCT scores remain valid for a long period.

YCT LEVEL 3

• Reporting Time - 08:00 am

• Test Start Time(All local times): 09:00 am

• The YCT (Level 1) score report provides scores for listening and reading

• The maximum score is 200, and a total score of 120 or higher is considered passing.

YCT LEVEL 4

3) WHAT IS BCT?

The Business Chinese Test (BCT), an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency, assesses Chinese speakers‘ abilities to use Chinese as a second language in business and working environments.

BCT (A)

• Test Start Time(All local times): 09:00am

• The Business Chinese Test BCT (A) consists of listening, reading, and writing sections. 

• The total score for the entire test is 300 points.

BCT (B)

• Test Start Time(All local times): 09:00am

• The Business Chinese Test BCT (A) consists of listening, reading, and writing sections. 

• The total score for the entire test is 300 points.
