25th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign University Students in India
To promote cultural exchange between China and India, encourage Indian teenagers’ interest in learning Chinese, and deepen their understanding of the Chinese language and culture, the Chinese Embassy in India will host the the India Finals of 25th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students (2026). Details of the event are as follows:
Theme: One World, One Family (天下一家)
Academic Status: Current university students in India.
Age: 18–30 years old.
Nationality: Must hold Indian nationality and have been raised in India.
Language Background: Both applicants and their parents must be non-native Chinese speakers.
Exclusions: Finalists of the previous global competition are generally not eligible to participate for two consecutive sessions.
3.1 Online Pre-Selection (To select finalists)
Theme Speech: Deliver a 5-minute online speech with a self-designed title based on the theme "One World, One Family."
Cultural Talent Video: Pre-submit a video showcasing skills such as Chinese song/dance, traditional instruments, opera, calligraphy, painting, or martial arts.
3.2 Offline Final and Award Ceremony (To select global representatives)
On-site Speech: A 5-minute speech under the theme "One World, One Family."
Q&A Session: Quick-response questions regarding China and Chinese culture.
Live Performance: A showcase of Chinese cultural skills and talents.
Registration Deadline: Submit the Application Form by May 6, 2026.
Video Submission Deadline: Talent videos must also be uploaded on the application form by May 6, 2026.
Video Requirements: Landscape orientation, max file size 300MB, duration 3–6 minutes.
Online Preliminary Round: Conducted via ZOOM on May 10.
Offline Final & Award Ceremony: Tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 23 (Venue TBD).
Finalist Support: The top 4 contestants from the preliminary round will advance to the finals. The organizing committee covers round-trip airfare, accommodation, and meals for out-of-town finalists.
Participation Gifts: All preliminary round participants will receive commemorative gifts.
Main Prizes: One Grand Prize, one First Prize, and two Excellence Awards.
Global Opportunities:
Grand Prize Winner: Recommended to participate in the Global Finals in China.
First Prize Winner: Recommended to travel to China to observe the Global Finals.
Scholarships: Award winners will receive priority consideration for Chinese language scholarships.
An educational study tour to China will be organized following the competition.
Inclusions: Local accommodation, meals, transportation, and sightseeing expenses are covered by the Chinese side.
Participant Responsibility: Round-trip international airfare.
